I really cannot over emphasize how happy I am that high waisted has come back in and stayed in. For someone who tried to get her hands on some high-waisted pants before they were sold in stores it was a real struggle.
First it was jeans - and now it's everything and I'm so jazzed.
Joanna and I both found some fall transitional pieces that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
THE FASHION SHORT
High-waisted shorts are a great way to dress up an outfit while still beating the heat. I can wear these to weddings, a meeting, or even a party. I can also dress them down depending on the occasion with a simple tee or dress them up with a collared shirt.
For fall layer with a sweater or add tights and booties. Whichever way you decide to wear them these high-waisted shorts can be a year round staple.
My favorite part about these shorts is the tie in the front. It gives it great dimension without actually holding my pants up.
THE FASHION PANT
Joanna has a knack for thrifting. It also helps that she gets to thrift in the best places in the midwest when she goes home to visit her family.
These green high-waisted pant was a thrift find but there are a lot of new options that mimic the look of these pants.
Since Joanna spends her fall roaming the halls of NC State University she needs a look that says student but also is respectable for when she puts on her teaching hat.
These pants are light-weight, perfect for working in hot offices during the fall and winter, but also lightweight enough to wear during the summer. Pair with a sweater, linen shirt, or blouse for a myriad of looks.
